Is it safe to spray paint a screen?

I guess I mean, is there a risk of fire, use a tone paint spraying, unless the outside of the shade is painted?

I painted two shades of powder-coated cloth over 9 years, lit with a timer, every night and I have not had any problems. I have gold leaf inside, sealed with polyurethane and have become "age" over time, but did not catch fire.
